Bella Hartzell (3rd Grade) On October 12, the St. Marys Pro-Life group joined with other schools, businesses, and individuals throughout the country to participate in the National Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity. St. Marys had 15 students give up their voices for those who have been silenced through the horrors of abortion. This club meets twice a month in Miss Hess room and is open to grades 5-8. Our mission statement is to educate people about the greatest holocaust occurring in America right now, that of the unborn. We hope to be a voice for our generation, past generations, and those to come whose voices will never be heard and have been silenced by the tragedy of abortion and euthanasia. Members of the club who have chosen to stand up for life include Thomas, Hannah, Cody, Erik, Jeff, Katelyn, Catherine, Abigail, Alia, Aubrey, Mackalla, Hannah, Joseph, Jose, Alexis, Peter and Madison. Miss Hess is the advisor. The Book Club meets twice a month and is open to grades 5-8. We, as a group, choose a particular book from any genre and meet periodically for discussion while reading it. We enjoy fellowship through that discussion, snacks and drinks. Each member of the club is responsible for purchasing or borrowing a copy of the book. Members of this club include Abigail, Hannah, Alia, Gavin, Madison, Cody, Katelyn and Mackalla. Miss Hess is the advisor. This group has selected "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry as their first read. Marys Mini Missionaries meets twice a month and is open to grades 5-8. Our mission statement is to be witnesses and examples of Christ in our school, community, and in the world. We desire to spread the Gospel through various works of mercy, both corporal and spiritual. Members of this group include Hannah, Joseph, Thomas, Katelyn, Mackalla, Jeff, Abigail, Alia, Erik, Jose, Aubrey, Catherine, Hannah, Peter and Madison. Miss Hess is the advisor. The Cooking Club meets twice a month and is open to grades 5-8. We periodically meet to enjoy each others company and make delicious meals and goodies!
